i'm pretty sure the intended solution to the lever for the red key is actually to set up a mannequin birthday party, take the gun from that to the top of the house, jam the gears, go back, pull the lever on the tuba thing to get the gun back, and then shoot the lever. i think the shoe trick is just a speedrun strat.

What is it with screaming in this stranger things season so many episodes have screaming and then a fade into another scene shits so annoying. Also Max, El, Hopper, Joyce and Mike are like massive assholes this season it makes it very hard to watch at times at least the show picks up at season 4. I used to think season 2 was worse then this and while it has it's own flaws it's not nearly as bad, season 2 has good moments and funny bad moments. Season 3 is just insufferable and awful with a few exceptions like the Scoops Ahoy part of the season. but Which honestly whenever I rewatch I'm gonna watch season 1, skip season 2 only watch a few season 3 episodes and watch season 4.

What really hooked me on Utopia the first time I saw it, was the sheer uniqueness of the series, first time I saw a series with such a color palette and the music, Oh the music, absolutly blew me away, i watched it in 2014-2015, still my favourite show, i'm glad people are experiencing the show and that it is getting the recognition that it deserve.

Oh you didn't get the red key correctly. The real way is getting the toy gun which is a whole other ass journey and then you need to go up and put it into a place where it would seem it would get stuck then you go and pull a lever and the toy gun comes out of the thingy next to it and then you go into the room and shoot basically random items on shelves and then the lever thing opens and you pull it then a gate open where there's a button and you press it and then you take the chair off the door and then you go and get the key

original is overrated, US version was unwatchable

I watched about 10 mins of the US task master and i would sooner wank my grandad off than watch anymore ! I feel bad for Alex, you can see the distain in his eyes when dealing with the cranky old lesbian. Atleast the UK version is still go8ng on strong

Thanks for this. Canadian, raised on British TV and comedy. When searching for the US version to compare but came across your critique. From your analysis I can tell we have similar tatses, so thank you for stopping me from wasting my time with the US version. The clips you showed encapsulate what I don't like about American comedy/comedian (the only thing missing was ethnic comedians making every joke about ethnicity and skin colour and that awful word you guys love "race." Buuuut... I have to say I do like America comics when they are on the Graham Norton Show though!

I just rewatched the Danish Taskmaster where one of the contestants Linda behaved pretty similar to Lisa. The difference was it was clear she played a character, and since she was one of the worst contestants, she turned to the assistant and bullied him. But part of her character also liked him, but she were always too proud to admit it. She even used another comedian as a mouthpiece to tell how great he was, because she didn't wanted to herself, it was hillarious. Her character and that characters pride made her one of the funniest contestants in the series.

Wasn't this show only about to have three seasons when it started? But it was so successful that Netflix wanted more seasons! And that's how season 3 happened. You can definitely feel that filler vibe in season 3.

Don't ever confuse marketing for heart and soul. Hello neighbor is shovel wear that's been well marketed. The game is designed to be marketable and nothing else. Hence the franchise that is falsely inflated, and treated like it's popular, when in reality, it has a niche following.

Norm MacDonald would have been great, even Conan could have done it. The person has to be imposing, smart, insulting and witty. Very difficult to do.

There are very few female american comedians that dont rely on being aggressive and narcissistic as the backbone of their persona. In a lot of cases its simply their real personality, exaggerated for effect. This isnt misogyny, its fact.

I think the main issue is the humor. From what I gather on the "ladies" is simply that that is just the general humor they get in the US. Like the dumb jokes on many movies, to me it's mostly cringey but they enjoy them. And let's not forget your humor on this video, it definitely isn't that funny to me, but I get some people like it. I came here because I was debating on watching the US version and I might just for Freddie tbf (and Alex but duh).

US Taskmaster should have been aimed for a "Midwest style" instead of an "LA style" i think it would have flourished if it was in a relatable setting

10:44 I know I'm late to the party, but the reason why the episodes were 30 minutes was probably an airtime conflict with the network. So on cable the network probably had a bunch of 30 minute slots but 1 hour slots were harder to come by reliably (with priority going to larger series that get more viewership). Just a guess though :)

when it comes to the feminism critique, i think the way you worded it made your argument sound far less valid than it actually is, because your wording made it sound as if the women on the show and their feminism are directly an issue (i dont think that ís where you were going with this). OG taskmaster had similar "inclusivity" jokes, but they were set up with a lighthearted nature around them that made them sound less accusitory and "ragebait-y" for lack of a better term, as well as working as an actual punchline, not just as a statement of womens rights (it is a comedy show afterall). American humor is often very inflamatory as if its supposed to make you just as angry as its supposed to make you laugh and thats the case here too, and it doesnt work for taskmaster.

I think another huge reason Taskmaster America failed is they didn't get big enough comedians to participate. All of the contestants were D-list comedians no one had ever heard of. That lesbian "insult comic" has no mainstream appeal because she's just mean and not very funny. Imagine how good Taskmaster America would have been if they had some bigger names like Stavros Halkias, Hannibal Buress, Tom Segura or Marc Maron.

this makes me so mad like there are so many american comedians who would do so well on this show...
